Congratulations on choosing Clad Home for your heirloom quality custom furniture! Please read through and accept all ordering policies before continuing with your order:
*Since every order is hand-built to your exact specifications, all furniture is final sale. Orders may not be changed or canceled at any time, for any reason. We’re unable to accommodate any change requests or late add-ons (extra pillows, different dimensions, fabric changes, etc) after your order has been placed. Our team is always here to answer all your questions and help you dial in your design decisions before you place your order!
*Quick Ship sofas and sectionals go straight into production and do not require approval by sketch. For Legacy and Custom Concierge orders we will send you a customized production sketch 10-14 business days after order is paid. The purpose of this sketch is to visually confirm the accuracy of all the details and dimensions that were requested when you placed your order. It is not the time to make change requests beyond that. Please review and confirm your order details and send us your written approval of your sketch (and/or any changes to the sketch if needed.) Once a sketch is approved further changes or adjustments cannot be made. It is the customer’s responsibility to approve the sketch in a timely manner so as not to slow production. Failure to do so will lead to production delays.
*Our team will contact you to coordinate delivery as soon as your order is ready to ship out. Clad Home offers free white glove delivery to the lower 48 states excluding Alaska, Hawaii, and any remote US location not typically accessed by standard freight carrier. This may include outlying islands, inaccessible driveways, remote mountain towns, and some areas of Montana, Minnesota, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, North Dakota, and South Dakota (not a complete list) that are not serviced by standard freight. If you think this may apply to you please contact us in advance to check. We reserve the right to bill you for any additional freight charges that your delivery requires at the time of shipment. Our free shipping offer applies to first attempts only. Missed appointments, refused deliveries, and elective delays will incur additional fees. We cannot store your furniture once your order has been fulfilled.
*We personally inspect every item before it leaves our factory to ensure that it meets our stringent quality standards. All Clad Home furniture ships via third party freight carriers, thus Clad Home cannot be held responsible for damage incurred after an item has left our factory. All deliveries MUST be thoroughly unwrapped and inspected by the receiver before signing the Bill of Lading or releasing the driver. Damages must be noted in writing on the Bill of Lading. Clad Home reserves the right to repair or replace damaged furniture at our sole discretion. Any transit damage discovered after the fact or not noted in writing on the Bill of Lading will preclude a damage claim.
*It is the responsibility of the customer to order furniture in the correct size by first measuring all doorways, corridors, stairways, and elevator cabins. Clad Home does not accept responsibility for custom furniture that does not fit into your home and deliveries cannot be refused on these grounds. If delivery is refused, Clad Home assumes no responsibility financial or otherwise and makes no guarantees about outcome.
*All COM (customer’s own material) orders must fill out and submit a separate COM Submission Form with your order to help us give you an accurate yardage quote and exchange important necessary details and info about your COM order.
*All velvet fabrics are prone to crushing when the long fibers are displaced or compressed, such as from the protective cardboard packaging used during delivery. This is not a defect as it will rebound naturally, and furniture deliveries should not be refused on these grounds. If you choose velvet for your furniture then you agree to accept and embrace these characteristics.
*It is the nature of upholstery to have a 1”-2” variance in estimated dimensions of padded areas, cushion thickness, etc. Variations in natural materials such as fabric dye lots, natural leather hides, and wood are normal and to be expected.
*Additional seams may be required when your furniture dimensions exceed the width of the fabric bolt or leather hide.
*Quotes are valid for 30 days. Lead times are approximate and subject to change.
All our furniture is designed and built right here in Los Angeles. We’re proud that our furniture is locally-made by workers who earn a real living wage, that it has a small carbon footprint, adheres to the strictest environmental standards, and is made with the utmost attention to quality and craftsmanship.
We will never trade our business model for cheaper production elsewhere to save a buck. We believe in how we do this. We're at our factory often. We know the men and women who plane the wood and sew the seams. We have a lot in common because we are all invested in this local economy that supports our livelihoods and feeds our families.
We don't believe in cheap, disposable furniture. We make heirloom-quality furniture that lasts for decades.
Great question! We know that it’s nerve-wracking to make a big purchase like a sofa without getting to “test drive” it first. If you have the chance to visit our Los Angeles showroom, we'd love to have you! If not, rest assured that we’ve been designing custom furniture for decades, which means that not only do you get to benefit from our experience, but our reputation precedes us.
Thousands of you own custom Clad Home pieces and have shared your rave reviews far and wide. We're proud to build heirloom-quality furniture that is truly made to last: no disposable furniture here!
And we have our quality control down pat. Our team personally puts every item through a rigorous 20-point inspection before it leaves our factory, and nothing ships out without meeting our high inspection standards.
Our Clad Home showroom is located at 4300 Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles and is open Monday - Saturday 11-6, closed on Sundays.
We welcome walk-ins, but if you plan to visit to our showroom to design some furniture we DO advise that you make a design appointment in advance (via the appointment booker on our homepage) which will help ensure that we can give you our undivided attention.
Because Rosa began her career in the field of green architecture and building design, she brings those sensibilities with her to furniture designs as well:
*One important aspect of this is keeping our furniture’s carbon footprint as small as possible, which is why it’s all made by our artisans right here in California under the strictest environmental standards instead of shipped from distant countries with lax environmental laws and practices.
*Our furniture contains no toxic flame retardant chemicals or other chemical additives. None of our fabrics are ever treated with flame retardant chemicals and we even offer some that come with additional Okeo-Tex and Greenguard certifications guaranteeing no harmful chemicals at any point in the dying and manufacturing process (learn more in the "info" we provide for each specific fabric.)
*Our high resiliency foam is manufactured locally right here in southern California using a special CO2 process that avoids the release of ozone-depleting chemicals.
*All our furniture and frames are made from solid Alder wood (not off-gassing particle board), recycled steel springs, and the glues, stains, and paints we use are all water-based and zero VOC. Clad Home uses no particle board or MDF ever!
*If you’ve read this far you’ve likely done your research and know that the very highest “green” standard in upholstered furniture employs truly natural latex foam derived from the sap of the rubber tree. While this material is significantly more expensive (roughly doubling the cost of a sofa), we do realize that it may be the best choice for people with serious health concerns and we’re happy to offer this option upon request.
With a few exceptions, yes! The main thing you need to know about sleeper sofas is that because the sleeper mechanism must be hidden within the sofa frame, your sleeper sofa needs legs that are 1”-2” tall max. Sofas on our website that are pictured with taller legs will be adjusted accordingly (and you will get to see this when you approve your sketch!) Some sofas with curved backs may not be suitable as a sleeper.
We’ve carefully curated our fabric selection to include only the most durable and high wearing fabrics in the industry, and we assure you that all of our fabrics will stand up to the wear and tear of real life. ALL our fabrics are considered "performance fabrics." Our velvets are especially impervious to harm and easy to wipe clean, and of course any fabric with a heathered/mottled/speckled appearance is usually brilliant at hiding stains and smudges.
Pilling is not a defect but a process that occurs naturally with some fabrics as they wear in. Pilling will diminish over time, much like a wool rug may shed fibers at first and then less and less as time passes. The best solution for removing pills is with a small, handheld, battery-operated sweater or fabric shaver.
All our cushions are fully upholstered on both sides with zip off removable covers so they can be easily flipped and rotated. We suggest rotating your cushions a couple of times a month for even wear, making sure to give them a good “fluffing” when you do so to evenly distribute the fibers and feathers and keep them from settling.
All cushions will compact as they wear in over time, so some loosening of the fabric on your sofa cushions is completely normal and to be expected. Fabric creases and wrinkles as your sofa "settles" are not defects, in fact we believe they add to the cozy nature of a comfy sofa.
You can read more about all our thoughts on sofa cushions and what you can expect from them here.
Leather upholstery requires mesh ventilation fabric at the back panel of each cushion where the zipper sits.
All our seat cushions are constructed with high quality high density foam at their core, encased on all sides in the padding material of your choice:
*Our Premium Foam cushions come wrapped in layers of springy polyester batting.
*Our Down Feather cushions are encased in a baffled envelope of down and feathers.
*Our Trillium cushions are enveloped in a down-alternative made from specially lofted polyester fiber that mimics the look and feel of down but is hypo-allergenic and animal-free.
All sofa cushions will compact slightly as they wear in over time, so some loosening of the fabric on your sofa cushions is to be expected and is completely normal. Cushion wrinkles and creases as your sofa "relaxes" are NOT a defects, in fact we believe that they add to the cozy nature of a comfortable sofa!
You can read more about all our thoughts on sofa cushions and what you can expect from yours here.
While many of our customers report having good success with throwing their cushion covers in the wash, we can't "officially" recommend departing from the standardized manufacturer cleaning instructions (which vary from fabric to fabric but generally don't include machine-washing.)
You'll find all cleaning codes listed by fabric on our Fabrics & Finishes page, and we recommend that whatever approach you choose to take, always spot test in an inconspicuous place first.
All beds are durably designed with a ¾” plywood mattress platform that is upholstered in a neutral fabric and rests on solid wood slats beneath it. The platform and slats may be designed to sit at the top of the side rails so the mattress is supported without the use of a boxspring, OR the platform can be recessed at the bottom of the side rails if you prefer to conceal a boxspring beneath your mattress.
We’ve perfected our website ordering process so it’s now as smooth and painless as can be to design your own bespoke custom furniture and never settle for generic box store furniture again!
You'll find everything you need to know in our Easy Ordering Guide.
Since every furniture order is custom built to your exact specifications, orders may NOT be cancelled once payment has been made and a 25% fabric re-stocking fee will be charged for all fabric change requests.
Please note that it is the responsibility of the customer to order furniture in the correct size by first measuring all doorways, corridors, stairways, and elevator cabins. Clad Home does not accept responsibility for custom furniture that does not fit into your home and deliveries cannot be refused on these grounds.
Lead time for our custom furniture is 16-20 weeks plus delivery and transit. Highly customized furniture may take longer.

So sorry, we don’t sell our fabric by the yard. If you need additional yardage you may have success doing an internet keyword search of your fabric name and color to find a 3rd party that sells it by the yard. (Not guaranteed and not available with all fabrics.)
Yes! We're happy to accommodate COM (customer’s own material) orders. Please inquire first for yardage requirements. Fabrics with pattern, even a subtle one, require extra yardage for matching seams and must be noted in advance. All COM instructions (such as fabric direction or pattern matching) must be relayed to us in advance AND noted in writing on the COM order form provided.
We can certainly make you a new slipcovered sofa of our own design, but we do not make slipcovers for any furniture that you already own.
Orders shipped within California will be charged sales tax. Order shipped out of state are not subject to sales tax.

Every item passes our rigorous 20-point inspection before it leaves our factory. Any transit damage discovered after the fact and not noted in writing on the bill of lading may preclude a damage claim. While transit damage may sometimes occur, proper documentation is critical in helping us file a damage claim on your behalf. We will always work with you to correct the issues and make any necessary repairs.

In areas where standard freight cannot easily access your location, additional shipping charges will apply. If you know this is you we recommend requesting a custom freight quote in advance, but we also reserve the right to bill for any additional freight charges incurred for unusual deliveries (for example outlying islands, inaccessible driveways, and remote locations that can't be accessed by standard freight.)
Yes we will always group all your items into one shipment and we reserve the right to hold onto items until the entire order is complete and may be delivered in one single shipment. Delays in our receipt of your COM fabric may affect your lead time, as those delays are out of our hands.
Beds are shipped unassembled as separate headboard, footboard, side rails, platform, and slats. Free delivery is curbside only. In some cases (depending on the policy of the freight carrier) assembly may be available at an extra cost. Please inquire.
